Full Tilt in Sacked Shocker!

Full Tilt: $18 down
Everywhere else: $91 up

The figures say it all really.

I decided to go against half the rules of ABC poker and try anew strategy.

Instead of playing premium hands only, raising before the flop and playing hands aggressively, I decided to play ultra passive, limp into pots and play loads of drawing hands like 42 suited and Q10. It meant limping in with good hands like AJ and AQ and surrendering them a lot of the time on the flop but I figured that instead of trying to win small pots with top pairs and two pairs I would win a few large pots with straights, flushes and full houses. I suppose in a sense I was being the hunter (chasing the draws) and not the hunted.

The results have been staggering as you can see. Because I've been playing the drawing hands it's been easy to fold stuff without it costing me too much money. When I do flop something like top pair top kicker I just overbet the pot, hope to take it there and then and be done with it.

So, after about $50 worth of profits I took my tactic over to Full Tilt. Here's what happened:
  • I had AA, someone went all in before the flop so I called. He showed KK and a K came on the river. An isolated incident I could accept but my AAs have been cracked four times in a row now on Full Tilt.
  • Flopped a full house with 89 (889), eventually got all the money in from a short stack by the river. He hit a better full house on the river.
  • Have KK, raise before the flop. A couple of callers. Boards seem ok, one guy goes all in with me. He has nothing but a backdoor flush draw that he hits.

In my furious haste I withdrew all my Full Tilt money . I know, I know, you should never blame the site for a run of bad cards but I've just lost my patience with it and results elsewhere are great (even on 888 where I've had complaints before but never as bad as Full Tilt). The rake was crap on Full Tilt anyway so the only thing I'm missing out on is the Poker Tracker info which showed me to be about $90 down at Full Tilt anyway. Not something I'm too keen on continuing to record as you might imagine.

Total bankroll in about $300 at the moment with a further $150 to use if I want to. Not sure whether to plough it back into my accounts or look for another site where I might be able to get a bonus. We shall see.
