Better performance.

$18 profit.

After a week reading the 2+2 forums and watching videos on micro stakes poker I played two hour long sessions on Full Tilt six-handed tables and turned an $18 profit.

It didn't start well. I had AQ, flopped top pair, got a short stack all in and he showed A6, he rivered the 6. Then I had KK in the small blind, re-raised to players, both of whom called. An ace flopped so I decided to check/fold. I was determined not to pay anyone off today, even if it meant folding the best hand (when I considered it to be marginal).

Then in the space of two hands my luck literally changed. I got KK (again in poor position), raised it and was then re-raised by someone who'd just gone bust. With AAs being the only hand that crushes me and a read of him being slightly tilty I called for his $4. He showed A3 and for once an A didn't arrive.

Then, in the other table I got AQ utg (what is it with all these bad positions). I raise and got 2/3 callers (can't quite remember). Flop came QQ7. I made a c/bet and got one caller. Now, I'd done a lot of c/betting and then checking the turn so I did the same thing here to give the impression I was trying to steal a paired board. The one remaining player bet pot so I Hollywooded my call. River showed a blank again so again I checked hoping he would stab at it. He did and I, after about 20 seconds, reraised all in. He called and showed KQ. That was for an $18ish pot.

So in the end all my crafty play wasn't needed and the money was going all in on a cooler for the other guy.

I carried on with confidence after that, continuing to play TAG and making sure I didn't continue to the turn and river with bets and calls which have cost me so much in the past. The only other hairy play was when I had AA. My reraise was called. And then my flop (KQ4) bet was raised. I decided to risk it and go all in - with KK and QQ he's pushing preflop, 44 calling reraise preflop I can't see so KQ is the only hand that feasibly beats me. He folded pretty quickly.

So, I'll keep reading, keep watching videos and hope for more success next time I play.

The videos were istrong and dawhipsaw (or something similar). Check out the 2+2 forums. There is a micro stakes forum there and on it is sticky thread with some videos on.
